Job Overview:
An Air Hostess (also known as a Cabin Crew Member or Flight Attendant) is responsible for ensuring the comfort, safety, and welfare of passengers aboard an aircraft. They provide in-flight service, demonstrate safety procedures, handle emergencies, and represent the airline with professionalism and courtesy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Passenger Assistance and Customer Service
Welcome passengers on board and assist them in finding their seats.
Help passengers with luggage placement and ensure cabin storage rules are followed.
Serve meals, snacks, and beverages during the flight.
Respond promptly to passenger requests and ensure comfort throughout the journey.
Handle difficult passengers calmly and professionally.
2. Safety and Security
Conduct pre-flight safety checks of the cabin and emergency equipment.
Demonstrate and ensure passenger understanding of safety procedures.
Ensure seat belts, tray tables, and cabin doors are secure before takeoff and landing.
Remain alert to any suspicious activity and follow security protocols.
Administer first aid or assist in emergencies when required.
3. In-Flight Operations
Communicate with the cockpit crew and ground staff for smooth operations.
Manage onboard inventory of food, beverages, and duty-free items.
Complete flight reports and documentation after each flight.
Assist passengers during boarding and deplaning.
4. Emergency Handling
Remain calm and follow procedures during turbulence, medical emergencies, or evacuation.
Guide passengers to safety using emergency equipment (oxygen masks, life vests, exits, etc.).
Provide medical assistance or coordinate with onboard doctors if needed.
5. Representation and Grooming
Maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance as per airline standards.
Represent the airline brand positively and ensure high levels of hospitality.
Attend regular training and performance assessments.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle emergencies.
Customer service and problem-solving skills.
Good physical fitness and ability to work long hours.
Multilingual ability (preferred).
Educational Qualification:
Minimum: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent.
Preferred: Diploma or certification in Aviation, Hospitality, or Customer Service.
Physical & Medical Requirements:
Height: Typically 155–170 cm (varies by airline).
Weight proportionate to height.
Clear complexion and good eyesight (with/without correction).
Medically fit as per aviation standards.
